Daniel Fleming

Daniel Fleming received his B.A. from Stanford University (1979), his  M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (1985), and his Ph.D. from Harvard University (1990). His areas of interest include Assyriology, Hebrew Bible interpretation and cultural history, ancient Syria, Emar, ancient religion and the interplay of ancient Near Eastern societies. He is the author of Democracy’s Ancient Ancestor’s: Mari and Early Collective Governance(Cambridge University Press, 2004), and Time at Emar: The Cultic Calendar and the Rituals from the Diviner’s Archive (Eisenbrauns, 2000).
