- As many colleges and universities around the United States and around the world move to remote teaching in response to COVID-19, ISAW can share news of the publication of the volume DATAM: Digital Approaches to Teaching the Ancient Mediterranean, edited by Clinical Associate Professor Sebastian Heath. DATAM publishes papers presented at a conference of the same name that took place at ISAW in October of 2018 and that was co-organized by ISAW's Associate Director for Digital Programs Thomas Elliott and ISAW's Head Librarian David Ratzan.

- On Friday, October 26th, ISAW will host the one-day conference Digital Approaches to Teaching the Ancient Mediterranean (DATAM). The event is co-sponsored by the Society for Classical Studies, and the local organizers are Sebastian Heath, David Ratzan, Tom Elliott, and Patrick Burns.

- In November, ISAW submitted a final report to the National Endowment for the Humanities on the "Digital Corpus of Literary Papyri" project (DCLP). This report marked the end of a four-year-long collaborative initiative to launch the creation of a comprehensive, searchable digital collection of literary and subliterary texts surviving on papyrus and similar materials from the area of ancient Egypt and environs.

- The 2017 Annual Meeting of the Society for Classical Studies in Toronto saw the introduction of a new event in the conference program: Ancient MakerSpaces, an all-day digital classics workshop organized by Head Librarian David Ratzan and Digital Projects Associate Patrick Burns. Ancient MakerSpaces featured a wide variety of hands-on demonstrations, research papers, and concluded with a state-of-the-field panel.
