Accessibility

Unless otherwise indicated, public events sponsored by ISAW take place on the first or second floor of our building. Both floors are accessible by elevator from our entry lobby, and an ADA-compliant bathroom is available in the basement level, which is also accessible by elevator. Our Lecture Hall is equipped with an FM assistive listening transmitter. A small number of personal receivers, compatible with headphones and hearing aids, are available for checkout from staff on a first-come, first-served basis.

The ISAW Library is open to the New York University community and all scholars and students of the ancient world who need to consult its collection. The Library is on four floors of the building. Circulation on the third floor and the reading rooms on floors four and five are accessible via the elevator. Open stacks are accessible by stairs. Library staff at circulation are available to assist researchers with using the catalog and retrieving materials. For more information, please email ISAW-Library@nyu.edu.

Stools and a wheelchair are available for use at exhibitions in our ground-floor galleries. Large-print versions of object labels are also available in the galleries during exhibitions.

If you have questions about the accessibility provisions of our facility, please email isaw@nyu.edu. NYU students seeking a disability accommodation should contact the Henry and Lucy Moses Center for Students with Disabilities at mosescsd@nyu.edu or 212-998-4980. All other requests for disability accommodation should be directed to NYU's Office of Equal Opportunity at 212-998-2375 or 212-998-6807.
