Hours & Access

Access the the ISAW Library

For Fall 2022 access to the ISAW Library facilities will be limited to NYU community members who have fulfilled NYU's testing requirements. We will also have some limited ability to admit visitors and outside researchers who have satisfied NYU's testing requirements. For more information about access, please see Hours and Access.

The ISAW library’s mission is to support the teaching and research of the ISAW community, and secondarily to support ancient studies at NYU and across the world. We therefore welcome all scholars, regardless of affiliation, to come and use our collections. If you have a research project in ancient studies, and you have reason to believe that our collections would be helpful, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us about arranging a visit (contact).

If you have a valid an NYU ID and have satisfied NYU's vaccination requirements (you have a Violet Go pass), you are welcome to visit the ISAW library in order to use our collections.

Unfortunately, we are still unable to welcome students and scholars from other academic institutions and independent scholars to the ISAW Library on a walk-in basis at this time. If you need a specific item in our collection, we do have a limited ability to sponsor outside researchers for a defined period of time. For more information, please write to us at isaw-library@nyu.edu with a short description of your research project or the item you need to consult and the proposed dates of your visit.
