Hours & Access
Access the the ISAW Library
The ISAW library’s mission is to support the teaching and research of the ISAW community, and secondarily to support ancient studies at NYU and across the world. We therefore welcome all scholars, regardless of affiliation, to come and use our collections. If you have a research project in ancient studies, and you have reason to believe that our collections would be helpful, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us about arranging a visit (contact).
We invite anyone who has a need to consult the ISAW Library collection to come visit us during regular business hours (M-F, 9-5, except University holidays; for more information about access, please see Hours and Access). If you hold a valid NYU ID and have a Violet Go pass, we recommend, but do not require that you make an appointments to come consult our collection. If you do not hold a valid NYU ID and/or a Violet Go pass, please email isaw-library@nyu.edu to make an appointment. Please note that all visitors must be in compliance with NYU's vaccine requirements. (Oct. 2022)
When writing to request an appointment, please be sure to give us your full name, affiliation (if you have one), a short description of your research project or the item you need to consult, and the proposed dates of your visit.
