Internships and volunteer opportunities
From time to time the ISAW Library offers internships to high school, college, and graduate students to work on projects that range from library science to academic publishing and scholarly communications to computational approaches to ancient studies and the digital humanities. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate volunteers who may wish to work with our physical collections.
We are now fully subscribed for Summer 2026. We are not offering internships for Fall 2026. We will accept applications for Spring 2027 starting in October 2026. In the meantime, if you are interested in our internships, please consult our Current Projects page. Please direct all other questions to David Ratzan at dr128@nyu.edu.
Volunteer and internship opportunities have included work on the following topics and projects:
- Representing Women Authorship in the Latin Treebanks
(natural language processing and language modelling in Latin) - Gardens of the Roman Empire (academic publishing and scholarly communications)
- ISAW Monographs (academic publishing and scholarly communications)
- Integrating library data and generative AI
- Alt text remediation
- Collections and donor research
Please see our Current Projects page for more information about active internship and volunteer opportunities in the ISAW Library.
Please see our Intern Reports page for information about past projects by the interns themselves.
If you have any questions about our projects or internships or volunteering at the ISAW Library (including about possible Dual Degree Program internships), please email isaw-library@nyu.edu.
