Tosha Dupras holds a BA in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University, a MSc. in Human Biology from the University of Guelph, and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from McMaster University. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Central Florida. Her research focuses on human osteology with special interest in juvenile growth and development, health and disease, and dietary reconstruction with stable isotope analysis. She conducts isotopic research on prehistoric remains from Lithuania, Southeast Asia and Egypt. In Egypt she is part of the Dayr al Barsha expedition team, and she is director of the physical anthropology team at the Dakhleh Oasis.
Her project at ISAW will focus on the writing of a monograph entitled, "Bioarchaeological Analyses of the Kellis 2 Cemetery Population in the Dakhleh Oasis, Egypt: Reconstructing Life Histories". This project will involve the combination of all the isotopic data from the Kellis 2 cemetery, allowing for an overall view of this population and will be a unique and novel presentation of individual life histories, a first of its kind in bioarchaeological literature. In cominbination with skeletal data, these isotopic data will be used to reconstruct individual migratory movement, diet and metabolic changes throughout life.
