Bernard Selz

Bernard Selz graduated from Columbia University with a B.A.  He worked at Lazard Freres between 1960 and 1967.  He began as a securities analyst and was assistant director of research when he left to join Seiden & de Cuevas. In 1973 he was a founding partner of the firm which became Furman Selz LLC.  At Furman Selz he was chairman, director of research and a money manager.

Furman Selz was sold to Xerox in 1987, repurchased by its employees in 1993, and then sold to ING Group in 1997.

He left ING January 1, 2004 and founded Selz Capital LLC. where he runs a domestic hedge fund, begun in 1988, and some private accounts. 

He is a member of the board of World Monuments Fund, The Frick Collection, The American Friends of the Victoria and Albert Museum, The American Friends of Les Arts Florissants and the International Committee of the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.
