Cauldron Fragment Depicting Saiga Antelope in Relief
This fragment comes from a very large cauldron. The two saiga antelope that decorate the exterior are recognizable from their unusually large, boxy nose structure, swooping necks, and lyre shaped horns. The heads and bodies of the animals are shown in profile while the horns are depicted from a frontal viewpoint, a conflation of perspectives also seen in petroglyphs.
