We are delighted to announce that NYU Provost David W. McLaughlin has approved the recommendation of ISAW's faculty to promote Lorenzo d'Alfonso from assistant professor to associate professor, with tenure, effective September 1. Professor d'Alfonso was educated at the Universities of Pavia and Florence and came to ISAW in 2011. He has published extensively in the history, philology, palaeography, and archaeology of Western Asia Minor and the Near East in the Bronze Age and early Iron Age, including a monograph on Hittite administration in Syria and several edited volumes. He has carried out a major archaeological survey in southern Cappadocia, which led to a forthcoming monograph and to his current excavation project at Kınık Höyük.
