The Fifth Annual M.I. Rostovtzeff Lecture Series got off to a great start on Monday night with a packed house!  Peter van Dommelen, from the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University, spoke of the importance of looking at a wide range of variables when studying why and how migration takes place. There are three more lectures in the series, with the next coming up on Monday, March 17th at 6pm. This lecture, entitled 'Going Local', will consider how people selected their migration locations and interacted with the locals to build their new lives. Be sure to register by sending an email to isaw@nyu.edu so you can ensure a place in the lecture hall!
