A richly-illustrated (in color) volume on the results of excavations at Amheida (ancient Trimithis; Dakhla Oasis, Egypt) has just appeared from ISAW and NYU Press. The excavations have included a house with extensive wall paintings of the fourth century CE, a Roman bath, an early Christian church, a Greek school, and a series of now-destroyed Egyptian temples. Amheida also has a standing mud-brick pyramid of the Roman period. Aimed at a general audience, the book is the work of ISAW's Leon Levy Director Roger Bagnall, former Visiting Research Scholar Nicola Aravecchia, Affiliated Faculty Member Raffaella Cribiore, the field director Paola Davoli (University of Salento), Egyptologist Olaf Kaper (Leiden University) and Research Associate Susanna McFadden.
