New ISAW Library Titles: November 2017

A list of books added to the ISAW Library in November 2017 is now available online on the ISAW Library website. The titles are sorted in the website version according to thematic topics (e.g., "East Asia" and "Ancient Near East & Asia Minor"); and within each topic, the titles are organized according to Library of Congress classification. The authors and titles of works in non-Roman languages are given in their original script. This list is also available in a Zotero library and as a browsable map created using Google Fusion Tables. [Update, February 2021: Our new map interface is now live. The items added to the library in November come from all regions of the ancient world, but China is particularly well-represented this month: nearly a third of the 171 new items relate to East Asia. Included among these are archaeological publications on sites in Mongolia:

  • Дуурлиг Нарсны Хүннү булш = Xiongnu tombs of Duurlig Nars : special exhibition. [ерөнхий зохион байгуулагч, Д. Цэвээндорж, Ж. Саруулбуян, Чэ Гуаншиг] (Small Collection DS798.9.B335 D887 2009). 
  • Балгасын тал дахь Гол мод-2-ын Хүннүгийн язгууртны булшны судалгаа = Investigation of Xiongnu elite burials, Gol mod-2 at Balgasyn tal. Зохиогчид: Д. Эрдэнэбаатар [and 6 others] ; редактор: Ч. Ерөөл-Эрдэнэ (Large Collection DS798.9.O53 E73 2015). 

As well as exhibit catalogs, text publications, and other works on materials from Northwest China:

  • Tractatus Manichaicus Sinicus = 摩尼教殘經, v. 1. Edited and translated by Samuel N.C. Lieu and Gunner B. Mikkelsen ; in association with Lance Eccles [and four others]. Corpus Fontium Manichaeorum. Series Sinica; 1 (Large Collection BT1410 .T73 2017 v. 1).
  • 酒泉干骨崖 = Report on the archaeological excavation of Ganguya cemetery. 甘肃省文物考古研究所, 北京大学考古文博学院编著 (Large Collection DS797.28.J587 J5878 2016). 
  • 发现石峁古城 = Discovery of the Shimao archaic city. 陕西省考古研究院 [and three others] 编著 (Large Collection DS797.68.S446 S436 2016). 
  • 扎滚鲁克纺织品珍宝 = Textile treasures of Zaghunluq. 新疆维吾尔自治区博物馆编著 =  Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum (Large Collection NK8883.Z34 X56 2016). 

November's new titles also include a number of works on Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Near East, and the later Roman and Byzantine Empires.
