Jade and Chinese Culture: An Art Historical View

It has been said that “of all materials in the world of Chinese antiquities, jade best exemplified the essential aspects of Chinese culture and aesthetic appreciation.” Taking an art historical and contextual approach, this lecture explores the profound and varied relationship between jade and Chinese culture that began at the dawn of Chinese civilization.
