Pleiades Gazetteer Facilitates Economic Study

A recent paper in The Review of Economics and Statistics reports on a study of geographic connectedness and economic activity in the Iron Age Mediterranean. This study used geographic data on settlements from the Pleiades gazetteer of ancient places, which is hosted and managed by ISAW in collaboration with the Ancient World Mapping Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
