Stefano Aprà received his BA in History from the University of Turin in 2020. He received his MA in Ancient Near Eastern History and Archaeology at the Freie Universität Berlin. His MA thesis investigated regional trade routes in north-western Transjordan between the Late Bronze Age and the Iron Age.

At ISAW Stefano will be studying Bronze and Iron Age Levantine History and Archaeology; Middle and Late Bronze Age Mesopotamia; Pre-Islamic and Early Islamic Arabian Peninsula; early urbanization processes and state formation; Landscape Archaeology; Digital Humanities and computational approaches to Archaeology.

Isabel Grossman-Sartain received her B.A. in Ancient Mediterranean History and Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from Tufts University in 2021. Her undergraduate honors thesis was on the history of ancient Egyptian obelisks as monuments of imperial power beginning with Augustus.

At ISAW Isabel will be studying women in Roman state religion, gender roles in ancient Rome, state ritual sacrifice, patriarchal systems and tools of power; influence of goddess cults on the Eastern Mediterranean.

Talia Sankari received her BS in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she focused on Biological Anthropology. Following her undergraduate education, Talia earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Bacteriology and worked in an evolutionary biology lab at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery under Dr. David Baum participating in research exploring the chemical origins of life on Earth.

At ISAW Talia will be studying bioarchaeology, paleopathology, archaeology of the ancient Near East, archaeology of the Levant and Eastern Mediterranean, death and burial.
