In June Alexander Jones took part in a public event in Athens organized by Crete University Press to celebrate the publication of the Greek translation of his book on the Antikythera Mechanism, A Portable Cosmos. The presentation of the book took place at the historic 1846 building of the National Observatory of Athens on the Hill of the Nymphs, and was dedicated to the memory of the astronomer John Seiradakis (1948–2020), a founding leader of the Antikythera Mechanism Research Project. A highlight of the event was a musical setting of the "Antikythera Sonnet" (author undisclosed) accompanied by a reconstruction of an ancient Greek tortoise-shell lyra.
