ISAW welcomed Gabriel McKee to its Library team yesterday. Gabriel holds a B.A. from Hampshire College and master’s degrees in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and in Library and Information Science from Long Island University. Before coming to ISAW, Gabriel was Head Archivist for Boo-Hooray, an archives processing company and art gallery specializing in 20th counterculture. His areas of interest include the intersection of science fiction and theology, the writings of the early church fathers, medieval mystical literature, the fiction and philosophy of Philip K. Dick, and small press bibliography. His publications include The Persistence of Poe: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection of Susan Jaffe Tane (The Grolier Club, 2014) and The Gospel According to Science Fiction (Westminster John Knox, 2007), and Pink Beams of Light From the God in the Gutter: The Science Fictional Religion of Philip K. Dick (University Press of America, 2003). Gabriel’s current project is a bibliography of the West Virginia-based fringe publisher Saucerian Books, forthcoming in 2014 from Boo-Hooray.

Needless to say, we are terrifically excited to have Gabriel with us and look forward to a 150% increase in UFO sightings on the Upper East Side!
