Resolving Conflicts and Complaints

Graduate school can be a stressful place, and while we hope that students enjoy a problem-free time at ISAW, we are also eager to ensure that any conflicts or complaints are resolved in a safe and responsive environment. While students are always free to raise concerns with members of their committee or the student council, in the case of more series issues, the Director of Graduate Studies and/or the Associate Director for Academic Affairs should be apprised. In the event of a conflict of interest or for any reason the student does not feel the DGS or ADAA is able to resolve the issue, the concern should be taken up with the Director. If the Director is not able to resolve complaint, students always have recourse to filing a grievance according to the GSAS handbook section 10.
