Museum Mile Festival 2026

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026 between 6 and 9 pm, join ISAW and our neighbors for the 48th annual Museum Mile Festival

Fifth Avenue will be closed to traffic between 82nd and 105th Streets as the block celebrates the start of summer through art and music, with all participating museums offering extended hours and free admission to the public.

This year, ISAW will be featuring a collaborative art workshop: “From the Ground Up: How to Build a City.” Inspired by the Visual Assemblies projects developed by the artist Nika Dubrovsky and the late anthropologist David Graeber, this community installation invites visitors to experiment with building a city from scratch by constructing your own ancient building—from houses to temples. You can find our stall on Fifth Avenue at the corner of 84th Street, where you can build your creation with our specially made ancient world stickers and washi tape before strolling over to the lobby of ISAW’s Gilded Age townhouse to add your creation to our growing city!

You can also enjoy the numerous exciting public programming being run by all of our partners participating in the festival including:
