Please note: you are reviewing a preprint version of this publication. Contents here may change significantly in future versions. Scholars with specific interests are urged to consult all cited bibliography before using our texts and translations or drawing other significant conclusions.

Support Small stela; sandstone; we have not recorded its dimensions.

Text While the lateral face shows only two sequences of numbers, the principal face of the stela is engraved with five lines written in Old Cam.

Date 1170 Śaka (1248/9 CE).

Origin Cave of Po Gha (Xóm Bằng, Bắc Sơn, Thuận Bắc, Ninh Thuân, Vietnam).

The stela was found before 1992, with C. 221 and C. 222. In 2009, we observed it still in situ (see ECIC III: 466-475).

Edition(s) The present edition and translation after ECIC III: 473.

Le seigneur pañca monsieur Raghujaḥ, homme de Pāṇḍuraṅgeśvara, a établi cette grotte. En [l'année] 1170 du roi des Śaka.

Commentary

We assume that the numbers engraved on the lateral face, of which the second seems to correspond to the one on the principal face, are trials by the lapicide.
