Connecting to Network Printers

Follow these instructions to connect your computer to the ISAW Multi-function Copier/Printer/Scanner machines. There are two in the building; the 4th floor alcove has a black-and-white multi-function device with fax capability, and the 6th floor alcove has a color multi-function device. Both require authenticated printing, using your unique assigned five-digit copier code. You will also need to know the following IP addresses:

4th floor printer-copier: 172.22.167.14  Lanier MP 5002
6th floor printer-copier: 172.22.167.16  Lanier MP C5503

Connecting with MacOS

  1. Open System Preferences, and select Print & Fax.
  2. Click the + button.
  3. Select the IP icon.
  4. Enter the IP Address of the printer you want to add in the Address field (see above). After a few seconds, a Lanier driver will be selected automatically. Type a Name for the printer, and then click Add.
  5. If a dialog box pops up asking about installed options, check that the Trays are installed, and that duplex is selected, and continue.
  6. When the printer appears in the list, open a test document to print (a Word document will do). Go to Print... and select the Layout drop-down menu in the Print dialog box. From there, select the Job Log option. Click Enable user code, and enter your 5-digit copier code in the User Code field. Then click the Presets menu, and save these settings as a preset.

Connecting with Windows

  1. Open Devices & Printers.
  2. Click Add a printer.
  3. Select Add a network printer, and then click "the printer that I want isn't listed".
  4. Manually enter the TCP/IP address of the printer you want to add.
  5. If prompted, select the appropriate Lanier driver to match the model (listed above).
  6. Follow the prompts to finish setting up the printer. When it appears in the list, right-click and open Printing Preferences.
  7. In the printing preferences, open the Detailed Settings tab.
  8. Click the Job Setup icon above the slider bar.
  9. Type your five-digit copier code in the box under User Code. Click OK.
