Translation: Agrippina Augusta, (wife) of the deified Claudius, mother of Nero Caesar.

The reverse legend, in Latin, reads:

NERONI CLAVD DIVI F CAES AVG GERM IMP TR P

Translation: Nero, son of the deified Claudius, Caesar Augustus Germanicus Imperator, (exercising the) Tribunician Power.

Inside the oak wreath on the reverse appears the Latin:
